After being released, the beaconed ones will probably be low on health, make sure to fully heal them. DPS: Phase 1 : Normal phase and easy just DPS the boss without being at her tail and watch out when you get Permeating Cold spell tool tip in the tank section , you will have to stop attacking.
Nothing special, move on to phase 2. Casters you should also watch out for Unchained Magic spell tool tip in healer section. We did it like this : Ranged DPS the boss always but refresh debuffs at about 5 stacks. Melee release your friends from the tombs BUT not before the tanks have had their debuffs reset as said before, there will be a lot of tank change and tank damage.
Just one more thing, if you get beaconed, make sure you get away from your friends or it's an instant wipe. I stated almost everything I think, hope this helps. PS : It might seem hard but after wipes you get the heck of it. Phase 1 and 2 should be perfected after wipes and Phase 3 well, It's the hard part, try to get through it. Edit 2: These tactics are mostly for 10 man since I've still never been there in 25 man but it's probably the same ones.
Edit 3: Spelling Mistakes. Comment by from Sindragosa the original boss page. I, for one, shall be laughing when all you less mobile classes are dragged to the middle to have your faces punched in by a huge icy ball of pain whilst I sit 40 yards away sipping my latte! To me, the huge icy ball of pain is just an oversized snowcone.
Which I plan to eat. I'll just enjoy being a puff of smoke for a few seconds, then I got there first and made you a snack to go with your latte. I think i'll just stay where I am, but turn into a block of ice. Lets say i have 30stacks of it, then pop dispersion when its about to blow, will i only get hit for 6k instead of 60k then?
Comment by Descartes You can activate the teleporter for Sindragosa's room by clearing the Spider and Vrykul trash room south of her room. Comment by Hehulk What gear are you using to achieve frost resistance? Comment by Diftraku Absolutely love the fight.
The mechanics are great. And then there's the voice acting, which is good for the first set. Just wait when she starts to repeat them Unchained Magic , 'nuff said. Comment by For Rogues: Feint is your best friend during this fight, especially if your healers are of questionable skill.
Use it whenever it's up. Also during the ground phase when you get hit with Permeating Chill, you can take up to 5 stacks, then feint up to 7 stacks, then use CloS to clear the stacks. By the time you do all this and get back towards 5 stacks the recommended stopping point the debuff will have worn off. Comment by hilary Anyone else think it's strange that Malygos' dead ex has more hit points than he does? I get half the damage from frost spells. Blistering Cold is from 0 with cooldowns to 15k without.
All this is cheap to craft and may help if your equipment is low level. Melee swings were up to 8k. Melee swings were k. Frost Aura, Permeating Chill, hit for half the damage. Therefore, I only tank on FR during the last phase. Note that FR is not needed, I just got it as an experiment. Switching tanks properly is enough. Last phase is about having a solid tactic to reset the Mystic debuff.
The following works for us: one ranged on left tomb, whole raid on the other. No one dps left tomb unless mentioned ranged himself is tombed. DO NOT use deathknight ghouls on Sindragosa: he switches targets to the raid after a Blistering Cold, and seems to kill people at 30 yards for no reason. It happened with a hunter pet too, maybe the tank needs to eat the Blistering Cold? Comment by benkarioz Suffer mortals as your pathetic magic betraaaaaaaaays you! Comment by Benegesserit Just fyi mages you can't ice block the ice block while you ice block the ice block.
Comment by Ziggybits Will Aspect of the Pack really work on him? Arnt you getting hit while your running away? Comment by Someone post sound files, her voice is kinda funny.
If not, tell me how to and I will. Comment by darthmullet The trick is the frost resist. Not so much the class. One tanking is the best way to go with a frost resist tank. Blacksmithing has three pieces of frost gear chest, waist, boots , Jewelcrafting as one ring, and Onyxia drops a great tanking ring that also has 30 frost resist on it. Get all of these, gem them to make sure you are uncritable, and combined with frost resistance aura, I get Frost resist.
The only attack Sindrangosa does that is NOT frost that will hit the tank, is cleave. Fairly manageable. The high frost resist also greatly helps the tank survive with stacks of Arcane Buffet. The frost pot is worthless, it only absorbs 6k damage before failing, stick with the armor pot on this one, especially if over frost resist.
Comment by xanthax Our raid leader has a mod that spams officer chat when someone "fails" to move and stuff to that effect. We could not figure out why the melee was getting hit with tail smash. Finally, I stood as far back as I could in her melee hit box and it didn't hit me.
So, I'd suggest that all the melee stand maximum range from her at all times to avoid the damage from tail smash. It'll prevent some unneeded damage. Bear Form It will cast it, even while in bear form, meaning you don't actually shift out. You can use it while still tanking her. The only drawback is that it clears your rage, but that shouldn't be an issue while actively tanking a boss. Updated to reflect 4. There is no more Dire Bear, just Bear.
Comment by Frost Tomb spell can be avoided by vanish, but the timing is a bit tricky, you have to stand on your postion and watch the aproaching ice ball from her, then use vanish right before it reaches you, it takes a bit of practice but it works, mages can also avoid it with Invisibility but its a bit harder.
Comment by So we killed this boss for the first time this week with my man group. Since we only raid 1 night a week, we didn't get much time to go at her with all the time it takes clearing the other wings, so we really only started hitting her good last week. We tried with 2 or 3 healers, 1 or 2 tanks, and still had trouble. This week we tried a new strat, which worked on the fourth try almost on the first!
It's called "Screw the fight mechanics and just beat the hell out of the boss" ; We only kept 1 tank and 2 healers, with 7 dps. When she does her death-grip and aoe move, take the chance to run behind a block and drop your stack of mystic buffet. In one of the attempts, when I got turned in an ice block, I ran towards her tail and got frozen there.
About 15 seconds later, for no reason, I broke free noone attacked the block and could join back in the fight. It did this to a few other people in my group too, not very frequently, tho. The only 2 ways I have to explain this at the moment is that either: 1- when someone gets frozen near another block, it breaks the existing block.
If anyone has any idea what is causing this, please let me know. It would make the fight pretty easy if you don't have to spare dps to break the blocks. I won't be able to do any testing soon, seeing as we're keeping our raid lockout to try LK next week.
Comment by pnkflffytutu forgot one more. Comment by Lougara I can see why Malygos didn't come to get her when she was sent flying over to Icecrown after Deathwing's attack. Her voice is so nagging, I would have left her to rot, too. Comment by Sindragosa , formerly the prime-consort of Malygos, is a mighty frost wyrm who was raised by the Lich King himself at Sindragosa's Fall in Icecrown.
She is the very same frost wyrm that the Lich King raised in the Wrath of the Lich King cinematic, as the same scene is played out after completing the quest Where Dragons Fell.
Comment by Kathucka Aspect of the Pack works very well for this fight. It only causes a daze effect for targeted hits. So, it only dazes the tank and the Frost Tomb targets, neither of whom have the same requirements for running around. Turn it on before Blistering Cold, then off. Considering how much running around there is in Phase 3, it's worth leaving on for the entire phase. Frost Breath leaves a snare effect. Unconfirmed, but Master's Call and Hand of Freedom appear to remove it.
Ice Block and Divine Protection should also remove it. Comment by pewpewx Good news, sapphiron! Is this a new intended change? Or an unintended bug? Bandages do not heal enough, like they used to. Kill Sindragosa to finish the wing, then go to the center and port to the Lich King. Thank you for your reply. Glad you got it sorted! You are the first death knight ever to truly solo ICC out of millions who tried.
You can skip Valithria — just walk around her and out the back. They made it soloable for non-healing classes. Kill Sindragosa to finish the wing, then go to the center and port to the Lich King. The Pump-Action Bandage Gun works well, even on heroic. The good news is you can just skip Valithria if you want now. In order to beat this boss, you need to heal it to full health while dealing with adds.
You have to heal her back to full health… something hunters have no way of doing whatsoever.
