Vehicles are allowed out, but a gate code is required to re-enter overnight. If a customer is unable to register in person the box can be used to pay for 1 night only for late arrivals without reservation. Customers with reservations are assigned to a site of that site type. A map with instructions is placed at the Late Arrival Station; the name of the reservation is written on the map.
You can select a different site than they are assigned only if other sites are available this can be check on the Availability List posted. Customers without a reservation need to check the Availability List posted each day at the Late Arrival Station and select a site that is available. Late arrivals with or without reservations for campsites are instructed to not to use the Self-Pay and register at the Park Headquarters by 9am the next morning. Site extensions for are based on availability.
Late arrivals for these facilities must have a reservation and need to contact the office before 5 pm on the day of arrival for further instructions.

The maximum depth is 95 feet. Water levels in the lake can vary from day to day on Lake Brownwood. Lake Brownwood is located about 10 miles north of the city of Brownwood and 70 miles southeast of Abilene. The neighboring towns offer shopping for gifts, clothing, antiques and more.
